1) When the Voter Registration Officer is appointed, as mentioned in the Article 17 (3). the Officer shall either check the voter’s name from the previous list or make a fresh registration for the new voters immediately. In consultation with the Regional Election Commission, Registration Officer can hire additional staff to do the registration, depending on the size of polling station and number of voters.

2) After deciding the venue and date of voter’s registration, the Regional Election Commission shall notify the voters accordingly in advance. On the day of registration, a family member can register for his/her fellow members who are eligible voters.

3) a) Voter’s registration number shall begin from a single digit number and a residence number be also given for quick and convenient search.

b) After the registration is done, the green book contribution of the voter must be checked and then stamped accordingly to one’s constituency and signed by the Registration Officer.

c) In case of a situation wherein the Voter Registration Officer is not appointed and a potential voter completes 18 years of age and is willing to vote, the Regional Election Commission can do the registration as per provision of Article 18 (5)
